![]() ![]() Sara (Joanne Kelly) in Clearly, the show is going to be on a limited run. But this week, the show busts wide open, and for the first time you won't only find yourself mildly interested in the events of the following episode, but you'll find yourself consumed by thoughts of what is going to happen next, in yet-unaired episodes of the program. It was extremely frustrating in episodes past to watch the show slowly move ahead with the story, with an almost uncertain direction in the writing that was at a loss of where the show was supposed to go (kind of like Lost, but not as interesting). But beyond some of the lackluster or mediocre qualities the show displays is an intricately-woven storyline that finally comes to a head in this very episode. Sure, Agent Lin Mei might be a little lackluster in her supporting role to Lucas, and some of the surrounding cast leaves an enormous amount to be desired (save John Allen Nelson's performance as Senator Collins). Yet, they bring in Agent Daniel Lucas, played masterfully by Eddie Cibrian, and he acts not only as an ample replacement to Kelton, but something even better. The untimely and confusing death of Agent Graham Kelton left many viewers of the show (including the author of this piece) wondering just where they were going. ![]() The show has always been solid and highly recommended (especially if you've been watching since the show premiered this summer), but "The New World" displayed a writing style and sense of pacing that was much-needed if Vanished was to be seen through to the end. ![]()
